A quick beginners guide to composing a good food photograph, and the thought process behind it.
This post is about food, but more about food photography. All beginner food bloggers find out one way or the other that good food photography and composition are key to a successful food blog. So when War and Cheese asked me to outline my process for taking a food photograph and building my composition, I jumped at the opportunity.
I'm just going to leave you here with a bunch of pictures that I kept shooting while composing my Badass Lamb Meatball Burger which is pretty badass so if you haven't checked it out yet, now is the time!
That's a gist of what happened, but let's get inside my head now. That's me talking to myself while composing this picture!
Do you have any questions about this? Or tips? I'd love to hear about your thought process while composing pictures!
And if you are new to this game, here's a great article by Cucumbertown Magazine on 'The Beginners Guide to Composition in Food Photography' to answer all your questions!

Amazing article Richa! However, I don't follow any rules with composition. I pretty much follow my heart and if I love my picture on monitor I am happy ๐ Otherwise I keep shooting <3
