In a pan, add water, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and sugar. Simmer on a low flame for 5-7 minutes
Switch off the flame and add the tea bags. Let the tea steep for 3-4 minutes.
Cool the mixture completely before adding the apple juice. Adjust the amount of apple juice as required. Chill in the refrigerator for a few hours.
Garnish with apple slices and mint leaves. Serve chilled.
Notes
If you are using honey, don’t add it in while the water and spice mixture is still on the gas. Turn off the gas and then stir it in to prevent it from getting toxic.
You can brew the tea in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Simply add in the apple juice and garnish before serving.
Since summer’s right around the corner, you can even make the apple iced tea and freeze it in popsicle moulds for a refreshing summer treat.
