Ingredients

  • 2-3 slices Sliced Sandwich bread
  • ¼ cup grated Mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon grated Garlic
  • 1.5 teaspoons Cream
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 1 teaspoon very finely chopped Capsicum bell pepper
  • ½ teaspoon very finely chopped Coriander cilantro
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • Softened Butter for spreading

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine grated Mozzarella cheese, grated garlic, cream, chopped green chillies, finely chopped capsicum, finely chopped coriander, salt, and Italian seasoning. Mix well to ensure all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Spread butter on one side of the bread slice. On the other side of the bread, spread the cheese mixture evenly.
  • Heat a pan over low heat. Place the bread slice, buttered side down, onto the pan.
  • Place a small bowl filled with water in the pan and cover the pan with a lid. Cook for approximately 2 minutes on low heat until the bread is golden brown on the bottom and the cheese has completely melted.
  • Carefully remove the bread from the pan and transfer it to a serving plate. Cut into desired shapes and serve the Chilli Cheese Bread immediately while it's hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • The cheese mixture can be made ahead and stays good in the refrigerator for up to a week when stored in a clean and dry air tight container.
  • Make sure to place a small bowl of water onto the pan along with the slice of bread before covering it up with a lid. This helps steam to form into the pan, making sure the cheese melts evenly
  • Even though I have just used capsicum for this recipe, you can add any veggies of your choice. Some other veggies that taste great are onions, red and yellow bell peppers, corn, and mushrooms.
