Air Fryer Veg Pakora

This air fryer veg pakoras are just as crispy and crunchy as their deep fried counterparts. It's an easy, fool-proof recipe that makes for the best 5 pm snack.

Ingredients

  • 240 gms potatoes approx. 2 cut into thin strips approx. 2mm wide, 1 cup
  • 140 gms onions approx. 2, finely sliced, ½ cup
  • 2 green chillies finely chopped
  • 10 curry leaves finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped coriander leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ¼ teaspoon coriander powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 pinch asafoetida hing
  • 1 teaspoon kasuri methi
  • 3 tablespoons besan gram flour
  • 1 tablespoon rice flour
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • Soak potato strips in water for 5 minutes, rinse 3 times and drain the water and press with kitchen towel to remove dripping water, if any. add to a bowl.

  • Add all the ingredients except water and give a good mix. Sprinkle water and mix well. The pakoda mix should not be too watery but just be wet so you can form a round-ish shape with them. This amount of water is good for the consistency that you need for this quantity of mix.
    140 gms onions, 2 green chillies, 10 curry leaves, 2 teaspoons finely chopped coriander leaves, ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder, ¼ teaspoon coriander powder, ¼ teaspoon ginger garlic paste, 1 pinch asafoetida, 1 teaspoon kasuri methi, 3 tablespoons besan, 1 tablespoon rice flour, 1 pinch baking soda, 2 tablespoons water
  • Preheat the airfryer to 180C and brush the basket with oil. Form large lemon sized round pakodas & place on airfryer basket. Keep some gap between each so they get fried evenly.

Notes

  1. After cutting potatoes, keep them soaked in water to avoid them getting brown.
