Orange Posset

Tangy, creamy, and decadent, this orange posset is one of the easiest and most delicious desserts you'll ever make!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fresh cream
  • ½ cup fresh milk
  • cup sugar
  • teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • ½ tablespoon fresh orange juice

For serving

  • 3 oranges cut into half
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

Making orange moulds

  • Gently remove the flesh from inside of the orange halves and set aside. Take care not to tear them.

Making orange posset mix

  • Add all the ingredients except orange juice to a cooking pot & start cooking.
    ½ cup fresh cream, ½ cup fresh milk, ⅛ cup sugar, ⅛ teaspoon salt, ⅛ teaspoon turmeric powder, 2 teaspoons orange zest, ¼ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • Once it starts boiling, simmer & cook on low heat for 3-4 minutes till the mixture thickens. Take off the heat, add orange juice & stir well.
    ½ tablespoon fresh orange juice
  • Pour it into the orange moulds & set in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
  • garnish with chocolate shavings & serve.

Notes

  1. Use ripe, fresh oranges for best results.
  2. Store leftovers in the refrigerator which will stay good for 2-3 days.
