Creamy Mango Lassi is a firm summer favorite because this cold, chilled drink is full of probiotics and the sweet, intense flavor of mangoes. We love topping it with nuts and a few strands of saffron for an extra edge!

You can’t go wrong when you blend yogurt, mangoes, milk and lots of ice to a thick, creamy and slightly frozen consistency. Lassi is our go to drink when it gets crazy hot outside. It’s full of probiotics from the yogurt and keeps you full for a while. So what feels like an indulgence is actually healthy too.

Frequently Asked Questions
The mixture of mangoes, yogurt and milk is the perfect blend of protein, fiber and starch. The probiotics from yogurt are really good for your gut and keep it cool during hot summer months too.
Lassi can easily be made with other fruits like banana, peaches, berries etc. I would avoid fruits which have a high water content like watermelon, but anything starchy, pulpy works well in a lassi.
Top Tips To Make Mango Lassi
- Take things up a notch or two, by adding a few cardamom seeds or a touch of saffron to your Mango Lassi. Cardamom adds a subtle flavor that immediately makes this drink even more special.
- Don’t skimp on the ice when blending as they help make the lassi thicker as well as saves refrigeration time to chill it
- I have used Alphonso mangoes for this recipe, but you can use any sweet-fleshed fully ripe mango variety available to you. Some other varieties that work for this recipe include kesar, dasheri, totapuri, etc.
- You can pour this lassi into popsicle moulds and freeze them overnight to make delicious home mango popsicles! I often do this and it’s always a hit with my kids!

This thick, creamy and delicious mango lassi is a yet another easy way to enjoy most people’s favorite fruit. I often make this as a snack to sip on while i work, and it helps make hot Indian summers slightly more bearable and fun!
