Paneer chocolate pudding garnished with cream and cocoa powder

Super healthy, yummy and kid-friendly is the best way to describe this paneer chocolate pudding! Paneer in a dessert sounds strange, but it is what gives this chocolate pudding its signature creaminess. Plus, you won’t even realise it’s in there! What we get in the end is a creamy, protein-rich, and super chocolate-y dessert that will make you want to lick your bowl clean. The fact that this one’s also low sugar means you can consume it guilt free!

Ingredients Overview

This recipe calls for just 6 basic ingredients, nothing fancy. These ingredients are very easy to work with and are super beginner-friendly. This paneer chocolate pudding is already eggless and 100% vegetarian, but you can easily make it vegan by replacing paneer with tofu and the milk with a plant based alternative. I have used milk chocolate to make this recipe as I wanted to make it more kid-friendly, however you can easily swap it for dark chocolate if that’s what you prefer.

Richa’s Top Tips To Make The Best Paneer Chocolate Pudding

  • I highly recommend making your own homemade paneer for the best flavor and texture. However, store-bought paneer works too. If using store-bought, make sure to get malai paneer as that delivers richer and creamier results.
  • Be careful while melting chocolate as it tends to burn very easily. Always microwave chocolate in 15 second spurts and stop when 80% of the chocolate has melted, as it’ll continue melting due to residual heat

Frequently Asked Questions

Ingredients

  • 150 gms grated paneer, 1 cup
  • 6 tablespoons milk, ¼ cup + 2 tbsp
  • 1.5 tablespoons cocoa powder + for dusting, optional
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • cup milk chocolate, 70 gms

Instructions

  • Melt chocolate in a microwave for 30-45 seconds & set aside to cool. Microwave in 15 second increments because chocolate burns easily.
    ⅓ cup milk chocolate
  • In a blender, combine grated paneer, milk, cocoa powder, vanilla, honey and melted chocolate.
150 gms grated paneer, 6 tablespoons milk, 1.5 tablespoons cocoa powder + for dusting, ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract, 1 tablespoon honey
  • Blend the mixture until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture in a bowl & refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight to set.
  • Just before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

Notes

  1. Use good quality cocoa powder & chocolate for that intense chocolate flavour.
  2. You can easily replace milk chocolate with semi-sweet chocolate.
  3. Make sure to cool the chocolate completely before adding it to the blender.
  4. Store in an airtight container & keep refrigerated for up to a week.

Hi, tried this for my party last weekend. It was super easy to make and tasty too. I added a bit of coffee, which enhanced the chocolate flavor.

Hi, I tried this and it came out well. It is super easy. You had posted a picture with white pudding and cocoa dusting. There is no way we will get white color if you add chocolate and cocoa powder. Is that from another recipe?

    1. Hey Jeena, so so glad you liked the recipe. the picture I have posted is from the same recipe. on top of cocoa powder dusting, I have added whipped cream as an additional topping (optional) only.
