Quick Walk Through: Baileys Chocolate Ice Cream
Why You'll Love This Ice Cream
I've made ice cream before, but it never froze well. Grainy, crystallized ice cream is no fun for anybody. And that's the biggest problem with making ice cream at home. But this Baileys Chocolate Ice Cream isn't like that at all. The ice cream is creamy, easily scoopable without any crystals and the best part - it's extra chocolatey! There is definitely a hit from the Baileys and somehow the bananas elevate the chocolate flavor. Don't get worried because I said bananas. Trust me, you won't taste them.

Itโs creamy and chocolatey, without being heavy and cloying as ice-creams can be sometimes.

Hello!
Could you mention what kind of cream is used?

Hey! I used some regular cream. Heavy cream is best if you can source it though

Hi! The recipe looks to be very simple and easy to make. Sadly Iโm allergic to Bananas, whatโs the substitute I can use instead of Banana. Looking forward to your reply.
Richa says
Hey, you can substitute bananas with 1/4 cup Condensed Milk
Rashmi says
Hi,
I tried the recipe today and was confused whether to use 1 or 2 ripe frozen bananas as in the comments it said 1 banana as against the recipe so I went with 1 banana. Also in these times,I could only get my hands on Amul cream blue box.Hoping it turns out as delicious as it looks In the pictures.
Thanks
Rashmi
Richa says
Hey Rashmi! When in doubt, follow the recipe. The recipe requires two bananas for a reason. They add creaminess to the ice cream, but you won't be able to taste them.
Mayanka says
Hi,
Do the bananas need to be frozen?
Also will it become too watery since the melted chocolate , cream and Baileys are all liquid and itโs only the bananas which is holding it together ?
Please help
Thanks,
Mayanka
Richa says
Hey Mayanka. The bananas absolutely need to be frozen. Thats the only reason this will turn into ice cream. Its the frozen bananas that holds everything together and freezes them while blending.

Hi Richa,
Thank you for the lovely recipes, now I make homemade ice creams regularly without an ice cream maker!
My husband finds the quantity of baileys too much for the summer months in this recipe. Can you suggest a substitute which will reduce the alcohol content yet keep the texture? Thank you!
Richa says
Hey Shubha, its difficult to give you a substitute here. Its the baileys that gives that nice creamy texture. You can try using another alcohol like vodka instead for a milder flavour
